25 Unicorn Street, Sunday Afternoon

It was another one of those afternoons. The sort that had Nathan rifling through his few possessions, systematically taking his journal from his bag, and then his uniform coat, and writing an entry in one while trying the other on, and then putting them all back again.

It was a ritual, really.

August 09, 2009...

He stared at the blank entry for a while. After all this time on the island, he was still terribly at a loss as to how in the world he was supposed to summarize Fandom.

Tony
Luckily he was saved by some very rude knocking at the door. And then a bit more.

Tony had no patience today, it seemed.

Nathan
It was fortunate that Nathan was used to all manner of rude things. He did live with Minsc, after all.

He sighed, shoved his journal back into his bag, and then shouldered it before heading to answer the door.

"Tony?"

Tony
"I think we may need to knock Tyler unconscious."

...Hello, Nathan.

Nathan
It probably said a great deal about the state of affairs around Fandom that this wasn't the first time they'd spoken about having to incapacitate Tyler, didn't it?

"Please tell me he isn't a zombie again."

Tony
This was perfectly normal conversation, thank you.

"No, but he's not sleeping." A beat. "And not himself."

Nathan
Another beat.

"Not himself how? He isn't a vampire again, is he?" Wait. "I mean, a Creole one?"

Tyler seemed to wind up undead often, didn't he?

Tony
"What? No." Tony shook his head. "He's acting like someone else who isn't exactly the best to have around."

Nathan
Oh. Well, that earned a moment's silence for consideration.

"This is a Tyler thing, then? Not a Fandom thing?"

That was actually worrisome, then.

Tony
"Yes." Thank you for having a brain, Nathan. "Now I need your help with this."

Nathan
Every now and again, Nathan did demonstrate his capacity to use his mind. Every now and again.

"To knock him out." Right. "And what were you planning on doing with him once he's out cold?"

Look, you could only lock Tyler in Nathan's closet so many times.

Tony
"I'll think of something--" What was that noise?

Nathan
That noise, Tony, was a portal, opening up directly over yourself and Nathan, and whisking you away to destinations unknown.

Okay, whisking you off to a boat sailing the Pacific in 1876.

"... I'm going to hunt down whoever it is that runs Portalocity, and I'm going to strangle them. Strangle them until they die, or they take my address off their records. Whichever comes first."

The portal made a cheerful 'zoop' sound as it closed behind them.
